Our History

How it all started.

Hugh and Fiona married in July 1994 in Richmond, Surrey. Both were previous university graduates that went on to specialise in certain areas; Hugh in sales and banking and Fiona in property lettings later becoming a relocation specialist.

They always new that staying in the UK long term was not for them; “We were fed up with going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark,” Fiona explains when asked about her decision to move abroad.“We had been to Spain many times on holiday and loved the Murcia region, so it seemed a natural decision to choose that area, especially due to the potential that we had foreseen.”

In July 2002 they moved to Murcia with their little boy Rupert. “It was a very busy time, especially with an 18 month old with another on the way!” recalls Fiona. Hugh had already started to network since undertaking extensive market research for the start of Murcia Villas. 2 years later the business was thriving and Hugh and Fiona had another addition to their family, baby Anna.

After 5 years it was apparent that with the combination of specialist skills that Hugh and Fiona had and the success that they had achieved, it was natural that franchising was going to be considered. “Many of our friends and family were saying that they would love to achieve what we had and have a fabulous lifestyle in the sun. It was at this point that we decided to look into franchising as a serious route forwards,” explains Hugh.

Hugh and Fiona visited the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham last year where they met specialist franchise consultants. They began work almost straight away to pull together the best and most professional franchise package with full operations manual, training package, marketing and support. “We are delighted to be offering the Murcia Villas franchise to other people. Being highly specialised in overseas property management, we have worked hard to establish our brand within Murcia. We hope to continue the success and growth and I am so excited to be welcoming, already, our first franchisees onboard. We have adored setting up life in the sun and we hope our franchisees will enjoy this lifestyle as much as we do,” says Fiona.
