After leaving school in June 1977 Linda began her working life by taking on a hairdressing apprenticeship at Bentalls department store for Glemby International. She spent many happy years there learning her trade from start to finish, to name but a few, colouring, styling, perms (now there's a blast from the past) both for men and women many of whom booked to have their hair styled by her on a regular basis. She also worked on reception with responsibilities for cashing up and opening and closing the Glemby department. Linda took the decision in 1982 to start her own mobile hairdressing service called "Home Haircare by Lynn". She found that styling her clients hair in the comfort of their own homes very rewarding and many of her clients became friends rather than faces drifting in and out of a hairdressing salon. It was a very sad time when she decided the time had come to announce to her clients/friends that she was to cease her hairdressing business but also excited to pass on her news that she was to take on another venture. Years of gaining the skills of good customer care and working with people from all walks of life helped to make her decision to take on the franchise with Murcia Villas with confidence and eager anticipation. Her naturally exuberant personality, enthusiasm, flair and an eye for detail to "want to make a difference" made her decision, and that of husband John's, to embark on a new chapter in their lives that much easier to go forward and try something new. Moving to and working in Spain was not taken lightly and both John and Linda thought long and hard about the new and exciting undertaking they were about to start. Thus far after a lot of hard work, determination and encouragement they are now happily settled into their new working life and have recently taken on an additional Murcia Villas franchise which has resulted in them now managing two successful offices with one in Balsicas and the other in Sucina. For leisure Linda loves to walk the dogs, two Dalmatians, keep an eye on the latest fashion and dabble in interior design. |
