Santiago de la Ribera beach

Santiago de la Ribera is a tourist village on the coast of the Mar Menor, close to San Javier.

It has an attractive esplanade flanked by palm trees that run the length of the beach, but still at its heart this is a fishing village with an excellent sailing club and water sport schools.

It is a wonderful little village to visit for the day, to walk along the promenade, and to sit in a beachside bar or restaurant and watch the world go by. 

While most people think there is not much to Santiago, it is actually the seat of the General Air Academy of Spain and - officially, it is where San Javier airport is really located.
