According to a statement, Premursa has now signed at the notary and purchased over 1 million square meters of land, paying 10.3million euros. An additional 550,000 square meters will also be purchased once some legal issues have been resolved. The President & CEO of Premursa, Jesus Samper says that this delay in the acquisition of the remaining land "does not affect the normal development of the project”. Sñr. Samper expects the first stone of the park is placed in the coming months. He advised that the theme park takes less than one million square meters already purchased. It would appear that the delay in the execution of the purchase of the land in February was due to the legal complications, which are still without resolution but they decided to push on and to continue with the majority of land purchase within the development area. After signing the deeds to the land, Samper noted that the act is "a very important and necessary step for this great project." The Paramount Park will become a unique tourist destination in Europe, which will feature the art attractions for all ages, divided into 4 themed areas as well as with 2 themed hotels. For its part, the LifeStyle Center aims to establish itself as the hub of business, cultural and leisure in the region throughout the year, and will have 7 hotels and recreation area. The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, has said that the foundation stone of the park and the LifeStyle Center will take place in May and that the park will be opened in 2015. He said, "In the month of May the first stone of the park will be placed, this is something completely safe. It is clear that this moment, alongside policies to rebalance and cut the deficit, we must supplement it with income, it should be an incomes policy." Another major step forward was taken yesterday in the development of Spain’s and possibly Europe’s largest themed tourist attraction as Premursa executed its option to purchase two out of the three contracts to buy the land for the future Paramount Theme Park at Alhama de Murcia. In conjunction to the Theme Park will be a Lifestyle Centre, Hotels and Water Park.
